IRP validity stamp 4

Hi,
1.If we are moving from stamp 1 to stamp 4 , do we need to send the passport for the new stamping?
2.what will be the validity of IRP for Stamp 4 ..is the IRP issued with one year validity or 2 year validity?

can someone advice

Hi,

1.Not sure about sending the passport, you could check with the GNIB on this. I'm sure you don't need to send it for renewal if you are in Dublin but You are changing stamp 1 to stamp 4. Send them an email to GNIB_DV@garda.ie(if you are outside Dublin) or immigrationsupport@justice.ie(if you are in Dublin) to know the exact procedure. Always include your Irish Residence Permit (or GNIB card) number, full name, and date of birth on the email.
2. Stamp 4 will be given for two years.

Does dependent spouse also get 2 year validity for their stamp1g when the partner moves from stamp1 to stamp4?

Stamp 1G will be issued for just one year. They used to give 2 years before but now it is only for one year
