ICT to Critical Visa Related Queries

Post by e_kannan » Tue Jun 01, 2021 6:33 pm

Hi All,
I have been working in Ireland in the IT sector under the ICT visa category from Feb'21 onwards.

Recently, I got an offer from another IT company and ready to give sponsorship in Critical Visa.

My query is:
Do we need to serve 12months in ICT before switching to Critical Visa?
Or, We don't have any period restrictions and we can switch to a critical visa provided if we have an offer from the registered sponsors.

Note: Recently appeared for IRP appointment and got the Stamp1.

Much Appreciated for any reply and guidelines.

Regards,
Kannan

1.Short answer: you can change jobs now. On this occasion, you are not changing just only the employer but you are changing the visa category as well. See more info on below
However, the Department will permit a Trainee on an Intra-Company Transfer Employment Permit to apply for a Critical Skills Employment Permit or a General Employment Permit during the 12-month period.

Hi Bala,
Thanks for your reply.

But, Still many are saying that we need to serve for 12months before switching or accepting new job with new employer.
Also the link provided by you says the same with one exception is given for the Trainee.

Regards,
Kannan.

It is better to contact them in this scenario to confirm.
